The lessons in the film focus on love in an objective and scientific way: it is compared with a scientific equation, which is always filled with mystery. The main character is also shown to be struggling to find his own love, yet we can’t help but feel that he has found it when he finally meets his match. As the title suggests, love lessons can be found within this film. Since, the main character started the movie by telling us that he “is not that into romance”, I thought that after all these looks for love, that he is now set on completely losing interest in it. Another interesting element of this film is the constant struggle between love and work. This theme is covered throughout many films which provides an interesting theme to pull viewers in. Love Lesson 2013 focuses on this struggle by focusing on using work to gain love or using work to lose love. I thought that it was interesting how they keep tying the main character to his job throughout the movie. As a result, I began to focus on the fear the main character had in losing his job which he used to gain love. The same was true for his boss who worked in a personal office. Both were fighting a battle in their work life and romantic life, yet both were subconsciously fighting for love. In conclusion, after researching this film I have gained much insight into the meaning behind the title of the film. The title itself refers to all of the different lessons that can be taught relating to love through this movie In addition, it is shown that finding true love happens when one receives “a love lesson” rather than always looking for it.
